Wac Arts was honoured to be selected as the featured organisation for the BBC Design and Engineering Creative Jam. Together, BBC and Adobe held the event for BBC designers and local design college students to work together to design social media promotions, logos, and other materials that Wac Arts can use throughout the 40th birthday celebration year.
The Creative Jam was an all-day series of wonderful sessions of training, collaboration and networking opportunities for BBC staff and the college students. One of the sessions was a 3 hour competition where staff and students were split into teams and informed of the theme Wac Arts wanted them to use in designing using the Adobe tools and products.
Wac Arts asked the design team to create exciting materials that we could use as part of the 40th Birthday Social Media Marketing Campaign.
Our 40th Birthday Campaign is the largest marketing campaign we have ever delivered. Our campaign and activities will engage our local and creative community, young people, their families, friends, our alumni and all those who have heard about our work. We will use the idents throughout our campaign, on our website, and social media channels – reaching an online audience of more than 9000. We want the finished product to be something our young people and community recognise and love – which inspires our young people’s creativity as they look to create films, animation and digital work.
Our logo represents one of our 5 values (Equality, Empowerment, Innovation, Excellence and Love) and we hoped the teams would use animation to bring our values to life.
The teams did not disappoint. All produced amazing designs that showed the teams’ unique design styles. Still, one team had to be named the winner. After intense deliberation, the judging panel chose a winning team. The winners received a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud software.
Wac Arts is so happy with all the designs and we look forward to sharing them soon.
