You can’t have a celebration without some dancing! So we’re starting our 40th Birthday celebrations with a month of dance. Keep reading to find out about all the dance opportunities we have here at Wac Arts, giving you the chance to ‘Keep Dancing’ between episodes of Strictly!
Try out Afro-Fusion and Jazz Dance with Senior Wac Arts
The celebrations kick off on September 23rd with our We Are Wac Arts: Open Day. If you missed Taster Day but want the opportunity to try out Senior Wac Arts classes (for free!) you can come along on the 23rd, select the classes you want to try and join in!

14-26 and love Dance?
If you’re an aspiring dancer aged 14-26, this is a great chance to shimmy your way into our Afro-Fusion and Jazz Dance classes and grow your experience.
Jazz Dance 10.45-11.45am (Please register by 10.30am)
Afro-Fusion 3.45-5.15pm (Please register by 3.30pm)
If you have two left feet but still want to join the fun, you’ll be able to observe the last fifteen minutes of each class running on Open Day – just let Atrium Reception know you’re interested.
Under 14?
For under 14s, we have Movement and Dance Classes as part of our Junior Wac Arts programme, aimed at growing your little one’s co-ordination and creativity. You can find a whole list of these classes over on Hoop.co.uk/Wac-Arts.
Contemporary Dance Workshop with Jeroboam Bozeman
We are delighted to welcome Jeroboam Bozeman from the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for an inspirational Masterclass, drawing on a variety of contemporary techniques. We are opening up this class to other dance students and professionals, both as an opportunity to take part and to observe Bozeman at work. You will need some dance experience and must be 16+.
The hour and a half workshop will take place on Tuesday 2nd October, from 11am. The cost is £10 per dancer, or £5 per observer, payable in cash on the day. To reserve your space, please email Head of Dance Ingrid Mackinnon at Ingrid.Mackinnon@WacArts.co.uk.
An Exciting Audition Opportunity from Wac Arts Alum Kloe Dean
Those who attended our Wac Arts Weekender this year may remember the energetic workshop run by the fantastic Kloe Dean – Now there’s a chance to join her dance company! Kloe is looking for experienced female 13-18 year old dancers who love Hip Hop, Funk and Street Dance to join her next project. Auditions will be taking place this Saturday (16th September). You’ll be working towards a Hip Hop Theatre piece performed at The Place in Kings Cross, as part of Impact Dance “Startin’ Point Festival” on 21st October 2018.

If you’re outside the 14-26 age brackets for Senior Wac Arts, do not fear! We have a number of organisations using our spaces this term to run dance classes throughout the week, giving you plenty of opportunities to get stuck in no matter how old you are.
