Aims of Participation

*It is important to note that due to the age banding of the activity not all young people will begin at the same standard. Aims of Participation are designed to be aspirational and achieved over a committed period of progressive study.

Ages 4-61. Participants co-ordinate simple skills to produce work with appropriate precision and control.

Ages 7-91. Participants co-ordinate more complex skills to produce work with more variation.
2. Participants devleop and build on skills learned in previous sessions.

2. Participants begin to add artistic interpretation to the skills based sessions.
1. Participants work willingly with others in the group
2. Participants undertake self lead learning, with oversight from the tutor.
Ages 10-131. Participants demonstrate good understanding of technique by engaging in more complex tasks. 2. Participants begin to have an understanding of subject specific terminology.1. Participants begin to show personal interpretation in skills sessions and apply sound artistic choices.
2. Participants show increased confidence in performance and sharing opportunities and begin to have a sensitive artistic approach and/or articulation of their work.
1. Participants collaborate with their peers and engage in ideas sharing.
2. Participants undertake self lead learning with minimal input and are able to apply feedback to improve the standard of their work.
Ages 14-171. Participants demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of technique which is reflected in the ability to apply more complex skills.
2. Participants have a sound understanding of subject terminology.
1. Participants demonstrate an increased understanding of the relationship between the work and the audience.
2. Participants show confidence in performance and sharing opportunities and approach skills sessions and performance with a sense of maturity and individuality.
1. Participants work with others in a collaborative and generous manner and actively seek out new peers to work with and be influenced by.
2. Participants receive constructive feedback on their work and implement the advice given in a autonomous manner.
Ages 18+ and Masterclasses1. Participants demonstrate a wide range of skill performed consistently and confidently
with technical accuracy.
2. Participants have excellent knowledge of subject terminology.
3. Participants approach performance/sharing opportunities with professionalism.
1. Participants demonstrate heightened awareness of the relationship between the work and the audience. 2. Performance and sharing opportunities (both informal and formal) demonstrate sensitivity and artistic quality.
3.Participants can confidently articulate their artistic choices in creative tasks and have a sense of autonomy over their learning.
1. Participants are able to self reflect on their work and identify areas for improvement.
2. Participants give clear and constructive feedback and engage in peer to peer learning.
3. Participants work autonomously to improve their work and apply feedback. Participants also demonstrate self motivation to improve.
Beginner
