Wac Nites

Wac Nites is Creative programme specifically designed for young people with mild to moderate SEN/D, and those who are neurodiverse

Sessions take place on Wednesday evenings during term time, providing an platform for young people to explore the performing, creative and digital arts. Led by seasoned tutors with extensive experience in the realm of special education, this initiative is designed to empower young people to unleash their artistic potential while honing their interpersonal skills.

Each session is thoughtfully tailored to the specific needs of the group, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging experience. The topics and activities are refreshed each term, providing participants with a diverse and enriching journey through the world of the arts. Wac Nites is more than just an arts programme; it’s a catalyst for personal growth and social development.


Wac Nites offers classes for three age groups:

Spark

Ages: 9 – 12
Day: Wednesday
Time: 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm
Term Length:  30 weeks, paid in 3 termly instalments 
Fees: £3.75 (1.5-hour class)

Spark focuses on boosting self-confidence and social skills through activities such as arts and crafts, drama, music, and digital skills.

Ignite

Ages: 13 – 17
Day: Wednesday
Time: 6:30 pm – 20:30 pm
Term Length:  30 weeks, paid in 3 termly instalments 
Fees: £5 (2-hour class)

Ignite aims to boost creative skills and artistic expression. From acting and dance to art, film making, and animation, Ignite offers a diverse range of activities providing immersive creativity.

Urban Motivation

Ages: 18 – 30
Day: Wednesday
Time: 6:30 pm – 20:30 pm
Term Length:  30 weeks, paid in 3 termly instalments 
Fees: £5 (2-hour class)

Tailored for ages 18 to 30, Urban Motivation is a young people-driven initiative that encourages creative exploration. This program enhances self-confidence and self-expression through content creation and performance opportunities.


Things to note

  1. Wac Nites is not suitable for young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
  2. While Wac Arts cannot provide 1:1 support in sessions, we wholeheartedly welcome external 1:1 support to enable all young people to engage.
  3. Wac Nites is not suitable for young people with significant challenging behaviours or intimate care needs.

The application process

  1. Apply by clicking the ‘Enrol Now’ button above.
  2. A member of the admin team will send you a detailed onboarding form to complete.
  3. If required, a member of the team will arrange a phone call to discuss your specific needs.
  4. We will book you into a trial session where you can come along meet the team, the other participants and take part in a session.
  5. After your trial session you will be invited to join the group, or a discussion around any extra support needed will take place.

Timetable

QUALITY ASSURANCE

All of Wac Arts classes adhere to our Quality Code, and tutors plan an annual curriculum of content that aligns with our Aims of Participation. Wac Arts has regular sharing’s of the class work, an end of year sharing in our large performance space, other external performance opportunities and our annual achievement awards. We survey our students, parents & guardians annually and evaluate this feedback to improve and grow our programme offer. Our tutors are observed three times per year to ensure the continued development and growth of the young people who choose to study with us. We have excellent facilities with full disabled access at our building in Belsize Park, as well as tutors who are passionate an committed to the growth and development of each of our students.
